ABOUT
Paul Laurance is an Australian filmmaker, photographer and designer with a strong background design and in documentary storytelling.
With his childhood spent in New Zealand, Paul’s career started by entering the world of design after attending Swinburne National School of Design (Melbourne, Australia) and later evolving into photography and short form documentary film making. Paul has provided design work and footage for the World Health Organisation in Uzbekistan as well as state government and Indigenous organisations (Australia) on campaigns focused on public health, education and community issues.
Paul is passionate about using video production as a tool for social change and has collaborated with a number of nonprofit organisations to create films that inspire action. His work aims to explore the honesty of real-life stories. Through documenting ‘what is’, stories are brought to life by raising questions, curiosity and wonder. His pictures and moving image aim to investigate the topics of resilience, freedom and the bonds that unite all of us.
Recently working out of Nepal, Russia and Uzbekistan, Paul continues his work with an international focus from his current bases in Australia and Saudi Arabia.
